On Vacation

Like I do anything that I need a vacation from but it's nice to be back :) This is the first time that I've been on the computer since Wednesday night and I haven't uploaded any pictures or videos to my laptop yet. Probably won't post any of those until I get back. Here's a picture from the airplane bathroom though.

This is the first time that I've used an airplane bathroom in years. Like maybe since the last time I went to Hawaii in 2007? I was trying to smile but this bathroom was at the farthest back of the plane that anyone could possibly be without being outside and was SUPER bouncy.

Anyways, I've been extremely busy since I've been home but it's great to see everyone! There are still a lot of people that I want to see. Emily and I have already done our Easter festivities since I won't be here then. We made each other Easter baskets and even had an Easter egg hunt. Her mom and her mom's boyfriend hide eggs for the 5 of us kids to find. Yes, we are all 20-25 years old out looking for eggs :) but some are REALLY hard to find (like a tiny black one in a hole in the middle of the yard) and there's big bucks in some of the eggs. I've also been helping my mom organize her sewing room. I've found lots of goodies to take home with me :D

I don't know how much I'll blog this week but in a week or so I'll post about my trip.

Picture Update

A better picture of Petunia. She has doubled in size since getting her. She's about 2.5 inches long now so about full size.

We walked along the river at a different spot than usual. There is this great walkway that sticks out about a quarter of the way into the river. It was REALLY windy but we will definitely start walking here more.

Portia is getting so big!

How cute is Simon?

We bought a Kodak Playtouch last night so I hope to start posting videos for you all!

Monday Fun Day

Enjoy! :)

1. I want to DIY this shower curtain from Anthro since I'm NOT paying $118 for it

2. Another DIY I want to do. Paper flowers out of old patterns.

3. I made these Oreo truffles yesterday. SO good.

4. Amazing KitchenAid.

5. Excited to start gardening

6. This super cute (sold out) summer dress

7. Origami dino necklace

8. Love the colors/polka dots/pinwheels of this cake

9. I want this chalkboard inspired bathroom

10. Mindy Gledhill - Whole Wide World. Rachael posted this video on her blog the other day and I've played it at least 20 times since.

Have a great day!

Meet Petunia

This is Petunia

She is a Robo Dwarf Hamster and is about an inch and a half long. We've thought about getting a little critter for awhile now but I just wasn't sure that I wanted to deal with it. Well when we went to Petco the other night we saw her and my heart melted. She was so tiny. I'd never seen a hamster that small before and I had to have her. She's gotten bigger in the 4 days that we've had her but she's still really really small. Petunia will only be 2-3 inches long :D Here are some pictures that we've taken since getting her.

Even her poops are cute. They are about half the size of a grain of rice. And that tiny tiny spot is pee.

We put her cage on the bookshelf at night... just in case.
Petunia in a toilet paper tube
Lily watches her constantly. It doesn't matter if she is running in her wheel or sleeping in her igloo, Lily has been glued to her. But when she's in her ball Lily doesn't really care.
Simon doesn't mind her too much. He gets bored of her really quickly. Which is fine with me.

This is NOT allowed when Petunia watching and she knows it.
Sorry for the terrible pictures but you're probably used to them by now! I really didn't want to use the flash around Petunia. I'll post more pictures later when I get them from Blaine's phone.

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Lily!!

You'd never be able to tell that Lily is 12 years old (or 84 in people years)!!! That just seems crazy to me. She acts like shes 5. Which when you're a cat is a good thing. She is so playful and curious. She plays with her favorite mouse everyday and about once a day she gets REALLY hyper and runs really fast all around the house. She (and Simon) got extra treats yesterday and Lily even got a new mouse.

I would have liked to get a better picture of her but she was not very happy and my phone wasn't cooperating. Look at how fluffy she is!

Thursday To Do

I should have never sat down at the computer. When I got up I was totally motivated to get going on my long to do list but so far I've only started a load of sheets/towels. I still need to:

-Do two more loads of laundry
-Clean the bathroom
-Clean the kitchen
-Sweep/Swiffer/mop bathroom and kitchen
-Unload the dishwasher
-Wash dishes
-Scoop cat litter
-Put clothes away

I think that's it. My motivation is slowly dwindling so I better go get started while I still kind of want to get stuff done.

I'm ready to pack my bags!

I FINALLY bought tickets!!! I'll be home March 24th- April 2nd. WOOOO!!! Ticket prices kept going up up up and I hate buying tickets. Not just because I'm shelling out a ridiculous amount of money but it's so stressful! Are these good take off/landing times? Are these good dates to be gone? Will there be someone that can pick me up/take me to Chicago on these days? etc etc etc. Gah! I finally just bought tickets on the closest cheapest week. I wanted to come a week earlier but tickets prices were $800-$1300. WHAT? Uh no. I'll come a week later and spend way less than that thank you very much. I wanted to stay for longer but the longer I made the trip the more expensive it got. Anyways I'm SO EXCITED to come home!!! I HAAATE flying. I'd rather get the flu. I'm just not a fan of being in a VERY cramped space with tons of strangers for hours (4) on end. Every time the plane hits some turbulence or sounds different I can't help but think "WE'RE GOIN' DOWN!" Even though air travel is supposed to be the safest way to travel. My butt it is. I'm getting stressed just thinking about flying.

With that said it's about time I had some visitors here. We have a very comfy couch that when you take the back cushions off is about the size of a roomy twin bed and I usually make pancakes or waffles on the weekends.

I LOVE my TOMS shoes and when I saw this giveaway over on A Beautiful Journey, I had to enter. She is giving away one pair of TOMS in the color and size of your choice. Arielle has actually been on a TOMS shoe drop in the rain forest! How cool is that? If you'd like to enter this giveaway go here and if you don't know about TOMS and their movement read about it here.

I wear my TOMS just about everyday. I wore them today when I took Molly on a walk.

Blaine and I went to OMSI on Sunday. Admission was only $2 which is a total deal because it's usually $12. I like OMSI for the changing feature exhibits. The rest of the museum is cool but is really geared towards kids. Last time we went the featured exhibits were dinosaurs and some writer. This time they were Lost Egypt and Design Zone. Lost Egypt was pretty cool. A lot of real artifacts and there was even a real mummy. Design Zone was also really cool. Mostly math related "games" or things to do. Blark. We got to beat on different PVC pipes with drum sticks and spatulas like the Blue Man Group does. The pictures above are from Design Zone. You had to put in some sort of numbers to get the different effects. Or something... multiply the exposure or something with pixels. Or something. I learned more in Lost Egypt. I tend to block out/not put a ton of effort into math related things.

Vacation by The Go's Go's just came on my iTunes... it's a sign

I've really been thinking about coming home for a visit. Not just thinking about it. I'm GOING to come home for a visit. It's the perfect time with me (still) not employed, Emily will be on spring break and I need to see my grandma. Ticket prices are steep (well what should I expect? I want to leave in a week) but I'm hoping to by tickets in the next 2 days. I was looking around today and it might actually be cheaper for me to buy two one way tickets. I know several of you just want me to buy a one way ticket but I won't. Maybe some of you *cough*momandemily*cough* should buy a one way ticket out here! Woo! You don't have to MOVE out here.. just don't make plans to go home for awhile.

10 Things I Love Monday

Woo! We have internet! Actually we've had it since Saturday. Now I can "blog everyday" or so says my mom :) We'll see about that.. I don't have THAT much going on! The posts would be "Today I got up and got online. Then I watched TV while Lily slept on my lap. Then I went to the store and bought cat food. Now I'm going to make dinner then Blaine will get home I'll ask him a million times what he wants to do because I haven't seen him all day and I want to go somewhere." That's a pretty accurate description of my day to day life minus the cat food part. Sometimes its the post office, bank or dollar tree.

Anywaaaays back to 10 things.

1.West Coast cut paper piece. I love love love the west coast. I just wish it was closer to the mid west.

2. Sew Very Happy Print. I think I need this for my craft room.

3. Homemade pop tarts! I'd use strawberries instead of cherry's. yuck.

4. LOVE this headboard. Might have to DIY

5. Gnome sugar cookies!

6. Wood grain dress

7. This dress would be perfect for summer

8. I need this chair

9. So at first I thought this was an apron but it's a skirt. I'd like it better as an apron.

10. triangle clutch

I'm starting to see a theme with my 10 things.. usually there's a dress, something with bunting and some sort of food. And I don't wear dresses. Like ever. But I like them a lot. I just feel silly wearing one if I'm not going somewhere where a dress is required.

Have a great day!
